ABOUT DR. CARLY ZUEHLKE

“As a Doctor of Chiropractic and a movement and rehabilitation specialist, I am here to help you unlock your body’s true potential. With expertise and years of experience in sports, pregnancy, and postnatal care, I am committed to finding and addressing the root cause of your musculoskeletal imbalances and dysfunctions.

I have combined my passion for the body, injury rehabilitation, sports, and motherhood to create The Movement Recipe. My goal is to assist each individual in conquering their daily physical challenges.  In addition to chiropractic treatments, I highly value education and enjoy conducting group workshops regularly.

I am excited to collaborate with you on your movement goals and guide you in rediscovering your inner strength.”                          ~Carly

I have been enjoying life in Haarlem for the past 5 years. My husband was given a dream job opportunity in the Netherlands, so we sold everything, including my previous chiropractic business, and embarked on our biggest adventure yet.

I hold a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Master’s degree in Sports Science & Rehabilitation from Logan College of Chiropractic.  In addition, I hold Bachelor of Science degrees in Integrative Physiology from University of Colorado-Boulder and in Life Sciences from Logan College of Chiropractic University.

I have received 2 prestigious awards from the Colorado Chiropractic association. The 2017 Sports Chiropractor of the Year Award is given for making notable impact in the field of sports, exemplifying high professional standards, and maintaining community involvement in the state of Colorado.  The 2014 Rising Star Chiropractor of the Year Award is given to a chiropractor within 10 years of practice who has contributed the most time and talent to the Colorado Chiropractic Association and the chiropractic profession. In addition, I have been awarded as a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors (F.I.C.C).  I served two terms with pride as the President of the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council from 2017 to 2018, before my move abroad.

In February 2015, I had the incredible opportunity to be selected for a two-week Sports Medicine rotation at the prestigious US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. During this immersive experience, I had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including athletic trainers, physical therapists, massage therapists, and acupuncturists, to address various medical cases.  I had the pleasure of working with Olympic athletes in a variety of sports, including swimming, triathlon, weightlifting, pentathlon, shooting, figure skating, gymnastics, and wrestling.  Due to privacy regulations, there are no photos of my treatments on the athletes but only of the facilities during my time there. View photos.

After having three kids in three years, I have learned that being a mom is the toughest sport out there, and my focus shifted towards prenatal and postpartum care. In addition to the certifications mentioned below, I have also completed numerous courses in women’s health and considerations for fitness.

I have participated in the Chicago Marathon in 2008 and the Miami Marathon in 2016, plus eighteen half marathons.  Before moving to Haarlem, I used to spend my weekends hiking and climbing mountains in Colorado. In my free time, I am passionate about kettlebell training, crossfit, exploring new places, and capturing the beauty of landscapes as a rookie photographer.
