Every stage of childhood is built on movement
Rolling, crawling, climbing, balancing, running and playing are how a child learns what their body can do, and each one builds on the last.

Not just where it hurts
We don’t just look at where your child hurts. We look at how the whole body is moving.
Every assessment is tailored to the age of the child in front of us.
What we look at
- Posture
- Movement patterns
- Spinal mobility
- Breathing
- Coordination
- Foot development
- Balance

By age
What brings parents in changes as children grow.
Newborns and babies
Parents bring their baby in after the birth, or because of something they’ve noticed and can’t quite name.
Toddlers and school-age kids
Parents ask us about posture, back pain and headaches, sports, everyday bumps and tumbles, heavy backpacks and long hours of sitting.
Teenagers
Growth spurts, sports and long hours at a desk, often all at once. Teenagers come to us for sports injuries and recovery, for pain, and for tension they carry in their body.
What parents notice in their baby
Tell us what you’re seeing, and we’ll look at how your baby moves and be honest about whether we’re the right place to start.
Difficulty latching
Your baby has trouble latching on, so feeds feel like a struggle.
Head preference
Your baby nearly always turns their head the same way, even while feeding.
A flat spot on the head
The back or one side of your baby’s head looks flatter than the rest.
Colic and crying spells
Your baby cries for long stretches and is hard to soothe.

Gentle by design
Chiropractic care for children is very different from adult care. The technique changes with the child’s age, size and stage. For a newborn that means no more pressure than you would use to check the ripeness of a tomato.
Appointments are often playful. Depending on what your child needs, we might add movement exercises, developmental activities, breathing strategies, or ideas to try at home.

An honest answer
We’ll tell you if what you’re describing belongs with your huisarts, the consultatiebureau, or another practitioner. An assessment gives you something concrete to take into that conversation. You don’t need a whole army of specialists to take the first step.

Your first visit
Under 16The first visit is one appointment: a consult, an exam and treatment.
ReferralYou do not need a referral from your huisarts.
A newbornYour baby is only days or weeks old? Newborns get priority. Book online and add a note that it is urgent. We will then look for an earlier time and get in touch.
Before you comeWhen you book, say in the booking note who the appointment is for. A link to the new patient history form is in your confirmation email. Fill it in at least 24 hours before the visit.
PricesThe prices for children and for follow-up visits are on the Prices page.

Primitive reflexes
Primitive reflexes are automatic movement patterns that help babies survive and develop in the first year of life. As the brain matures, they normally settle. Where it’s useful, we check whether some are still active, and we may give your child movement exercises to support their development alongside chiropractic care.
