The Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs is a state-of-the-art facility is a hub of athletic excellence, attracting top athletes from around the globe.
The training center is home to a diverse range of sports, catering to both summer and winter disciplines. From track and field to swimming, gymnastics to wrestling, you’ll find athletes from various sports honing their skills and pushing their limits within these walls.
To ensure the well-being and optimal performance of these incredible athletes, the center boasts an exceptional medical staff. Highly trained doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and sports psychologists work tirelessly year-round to provide comprehensive care for all who train here. Their expertise helps athletes recover from injuries, optimize their training regimes, and maintain peak physical condition.
In addition, several specialists come for a rotation. This helps the athletes and other providers to get fresh ideas and collaboration, which improves the patient outcomes with an injury. I was fortunate to spend 2 weeks there in February 2015. Some of the sports I’ve worked with included wrestling, judo, figure and speed skating, and gymnastics. I drove an athlete to their practice in the company car, which was pretty cool. The other highlight for me was that I got to train myself in the same gym the athletes use.
Speaking of athletes, some of the world’s most celebrated sports stars have graced this prestigious training center. Olympic medalists in various disciplines have called Colorado Springs their training base as they prepare for international competitions. The center provides them with top-notch facilities and a supportive environment that fosters growth and excellence.
