Privacy policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026
The Movement Recipe takes good care of your privacy. On this page you can read how we collect and use the personal information you give us, and when we share it. In doing so, we follow the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Information Collection and Use
The Movement Recipe is responsible for the processing of your personal information for our services and treatment, for communicating with you and for our administration. We only ask for and process the information we need for these purposes. For this reason, we may ask you for the following information, which we use to contact or identify you:
- First name
- Last name
- Address
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Sex
- Date of birth
- Citizen service number (BSN)
- Insurance number
- Health insurer
- Your GP’s details
Other information we may ask for:
- Other personal details you give us yourself, for example when you create a PracticeHub profile to book an appointment
- Your health status
- Information about your complaint
- Your medical history
Why we may use your information. We use it to treat you under the treatment agreement you have with us, and because the law requires us to keep a patient record. Because we are your care provider and bound by professional confidentiality, we may use information about your health for your treatment. Where we need your consent, for example for statistics and advertising cookies, we ask for it first, and you can withdraw it at any time.
You can read more about how PracticeHub uses your personal information here: https://go.practicehub.io/v3/trust-centre/privacy
Third Party Disclosure
We never sell your personal information. We only share it where that is needed to treat you or to run the practice, for example with PracticeHub for bookings, with Stripe for deposits and with our website host and email provider, or where the law requires it (see also Other services this website uses). We only share information about your health with another care provider, such as your GP, if you give us permission, unless the law requires us to.
You don’t have to give us your details, but without your contact details and information about your health we cannot treat you.
Communications
We use your details to contact you about your appointments and your treatment, and to let you know about practical changes at the practice that affect them. We only send newsletters or other marketing emails if you have signed up for them, and every one lets you unsubscribe.
Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. We know that some of the information you give us is highly sensitive. No way of sending information over the internet or storing it electronically is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We do take appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep the information we collect confidential and to protect it against unlawful processing, misuse, loss, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised use. Everyone at The Movement Recipe who is authorised to handle your personal information is bound to keep it confidential.
Retention and Your Rights
We keep your patient record for 20 years from the last change to it, as Dutch law (the WGBO) requires, or longer where good care calls for it. You can ask us to destroy your record sooner. We will, unless keeping it is of considerable importance to someone else or the law does not allow it. We keep invoices and the rest of our financial records for 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires it. We keep other personal information no longer than we need it for the purpose we collected it for.
You have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You also have the right to object to our use of your personal information where we rely on our legitimate interest, such as for the services under Other services this website uses, and to ask us to limit how we use it, for example while a question or objection of yours is being settled. You can also ask us to transfer the information you gave us to you, or directly to another party. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this applies from that moment on. To use any of these rights, email info@themovementrecipe.com. We will reply within one month.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for this website to work, such as the one that remembers your cookie choice; you can see which ones under Other services this website uses. Cookies from Google Analytics and Google Ads collect information about your visit, so we only place them if you allow them in the cookie banner. Saying no never stops you from using this website, and you can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
In your browser you can also choose to refuse all cookies, to be told whenever a cookie is placed, or to delete cookies automatically when you close the browser. If you block all cookies, some parts, such as paying online, may not work.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We update this privacy policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you beforehand, by email or with a clear notice on this website, and where your consent is needed we will ask for it first.
Complaints
If you should have a complaint about the processing of your personal information, we kindly ask you to contact us directly. You always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, which is the supervisory authority in the field of privacy protection: https://autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl/en

The Movement Recipe, Verspronckweg 56, 2023 BM Haarlem, the Netherlands, is responsible for processing your personal information. If you have any questions or comments after reading this privacy policy, email us at info@themovementrecipe.com or call +31 23 234 1919.
Other services this website uses
Parts of this website are provided by other companies. When your browser loads those parts, it contacts those companies directly and they can see your IP address.
We use the parts that are always on, such as the maps, typefaces, icons and spam protection, because we have a legitimate interest in a website that works well and is protected against spam. Google, Stripe and Font Awesome also handle data in the United States. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as giving adequate protection, and Stripe and Font Awesome state that they follow the same framework. PracticeHub is based in the EU. Some of its suppliers are outside the EU (see PracticeHub’s list of suppliers), and PracticeHub only lets them handle data under the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards.
Booking and payment. Appointments are booked through PracticeHub. If you pay a booking deposit, the payment itself is handled by Stripe. At that point Stripe places three cookies in your browser, two of which stay for about a year, and it uses them to process the payment and to check that it is genuine. While you are booking, PracticeHub also keeps a booking reference in your browser.
The maps. The maps on our homepage and contact page are served by Google.
The video. The video on our thank-you page comes from YouTube, which is owned by Google. It uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and nothing loads from YouTube until you press play.
Typefaces and icons. The typefaces and icons used across this site are served by Google and by Font Awesome.
Spam protection. Our contact forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a person is sending the form, not a program. It loads on every page and sends details about your visit, such as your IP address, to Google, whose privacy policy and terms of service apply.
Statistics and advertising. With your permission we use Google Analytics to see how visitors use this website, and Google Ads to measure whether our adverts lead to bookings and enquiries. Both only place cookies after you allow them in the cookie banner. If you say no, Google Analytics still receives a basic signal, without cookies, that a page was viewed.
Your cookie choice. The cookie banner stores your choice in a cookie of its own for six months. You can change it at any time through Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Messages through our forms. When you send us a message through a form on this website, your name, email address, phone number (if you give one) and message are emailed to us, with the date, time and page you sent it from. They are also kept in the website’s own records, so that no message gets lost. We use them only to answer you, because that is what you ask us to do.
Apart from the cookie banner’s own cookie and Google reCAPTCHA, this website only places cookies once you allow them in the cookie banner. On the booking page, Stripe places the cookies it needs for the payment. If you press play on the video, YouTube may place its own.
